Industry-Leading Hudson RPO Team Saves 2 Sisters Group Over £3M in Agency Fees


2 Sisters Food Group is a £3 billion per year, UK-based privately owned food manufacturing company. Despite its large size, the company lacked a centralised talent acquisition function. Hiring was fragmented across 43 sites with a heavy reliance on outside agencies and little cost control.


After a competitive bid process, Hudson RPO was selected for our straightforward, project management-style approach, onsite Recruitment Partnering modal and also our Edinburgh Sourcing Centre of Excellence.

The original contract was for 400 annual hires across the UK and Ireland for factory roles such as Q&A, production line manager, technical manager, engineers, general operations, and central functions such as sales, marketing, HR and finance.

In year one and two, the recruitment need jumped to 650 roles, in 2018 it will jump to 700. The Edinburgh sourcing team have helped the team scale up and down as needed.

2 Sisters implemented Hudson RPO’s proprietary ATS. Hudson RPO launched a campus hiring program and also enhanced 2 Sisters’ employer brand including improved social presence and an employer branding video. The team implemented hiring manager interview training, and developed candidate packs of company information to educate candidates during the interview process.  

The project scope has continued to expand with Hudson RPO hiring for two subsidiaries including an MSP solution for 50-100 contractors p.a and for Bernard Matthews. Birds Eye also engaged Hudson RPO, and the team are designing a larger solution for the frozen food company. 


Since the November 2015 launch, Hudson RPO has saved 2 Sisters over £3M in agency fees.

Hudson RPO has become an industry-leading team in the FMCG space given their achievements and accolades related to the 2 Sisters account.

In 2018, Hudson RPO’s 2 Sisters team won ‘Best Recruitment Team of the Year’ at the in-house Recruitment Awards. The team were also finalists for ‘FMCG Recruitment Team of the Year’ and ‘Recruitment Manager of the Year’.

Agency reliance went from an initial 92% rate down to the current rate of 7%. Cost-per-hire decreased from £2,100 to £1,300 during the course of the RPO program. The number of rolls open more than 50 days has decreased by 20 roles year-over-year.

In February 2018, 2 Sisters renewed the Hudson RPO contract for two years with an additional optional year.
